I Don’t Wanna Grow Up!
My boyfriend had mentioned to me the other day that he never wanted to grow old, because he always wanted to maintain an active lifestyle. We are always looking for fun things to do, so that we are always keeping things exciting. So, when he said this it gave me a great idea. I went to the mall candy store and bought “Pop Rocks”, candy bubbles (bubbles that are flavored so you can catch them on your tongue), and M&M;’s (which are his favorite). I then went to the dollar store and bought us a whole bunch of water guns. All of this cost me about $10.00. When I went over to his house and surprised him with a big paper bag, he just looked at me. The look on his face when he opened it was priceless! He was like a kid again. We had so much fun playing water tag and blowing bubbles. Pop-rock kisses are amazing as well!

Inexpensive Dessert Dining
Some really nice and expensive restaurants, like those overlooking the water or a city skyline, will let you get a table for coffee and desert without buying a meal. Split a grand dessert and get 2 coffees. The entire cost will only be about $10 to $15 at a setting to absolutely die for.

Inexpensive Get-Away
If you don’t have any money, here’s the perfect thing to do: my boyfriend and I drive out into the country and to the highest point that overlooks the city. We bring a sleeping bag and just lay under the stars and watch the city lights flicker. My boyfriend had never done that with another girl before and now that’s our favorite thing to do. It’s relaxing, romantic, quiet and when it’s a little chilly, you get the chance to become real close… I love it!

Inexpensive Movie Night
The library is full of movies that you can check out FOR FREE. All you need to buy is popcorn or your honey’s favorite candy and drinks (soda or hot chocolate) and you got yourself a cheap but romantic night.

Kisses At The Lake
I took my girlfriend camping during the summer, and we stayed at a campground right by a beautiful lake. I got a handful of medium sized skipping rocks (the flatter the better) and wrote different things on them like “kiss me”, and “tickle me”. I put them in a line all the way down the beach. When dusk rolled around, I asked her to go for a walk with me on the beach. As we walked down the beach each stone got more intimate. As we came across each one and read it, we threw it out on the lake. She absolutely loved it. We ended up spending the night on the beach.

Lakeside Movie
My husband (of almost 9 years) surprised me with an outdoor movie. What he did in advance was pack a foam mattress, sleeping bags, and pillows into the truck. He also loaded a small TV/VCR combo, 2 long extension cords, and a small generator. He had gone to the video store and rented a movie, and also stopped and picked up a drink and movie treats. Shortly after dark he made a phone call to tell me he had gotten a babysitter and that we were going on a date. He took me to the lake (any nearby quiet place would work). I still had NO idea what he had planned. I stayed in the truck while he took the generator somewhere farther away (so it wouldn’t be too loud), stretched out the 2 long extension cords, put the TV in the back of the truck, made out a bed, got out the treats, then he told me I could get out. We laid out under the stars (in the truck bed) and watched the movie as we ate our treats. It was probably the most fun I have ever had on a date! And my husband claims he’s neither creative nor romantic!!)

Love In The Air
I bought 2 kites for a dollar at the dollar store. I told my boyfriend I wanted to go kite flying. He said it was a dumb idea but went with me anyway. We went to a nearby school playground and had the best time! The people living in the homes nearby came out to watch and some of them said they thought children were flying the kites, but were surprised to see it was 2 adults. I say everyone still has a little bit of a child left in them.

Lover’s Lane
I was with my girlfriend and on the spur of the moment, I told her let’s go out. So, I took her out to the country, to lover’s lane. We sat in the back of my car with my blanket and shared our most intimates thoughts and feelings while looking at the stars and the moon…. It was very romantic! When we got home we both felt really complete.

Mini Van Picnic
For Valentine’s Day, my boyfriend did the sweetest thing. It was very inexpensive, but super romantic. He took showed up in his Mom’s mini van (weird I know, but just wait) on Valentine’s Day evening. He told me to get in the car and look forward. He then proceeded to give me an appetizer (strawberries and whipped cream). After I finished, he blind folded me and we proceeded to drive. When we stopped he led me out of the van and around the back of it. When I opened my eyes I saw he had taken all of the seats out of it, the inside was completely lined with candles and pillows. In the corner was a small stuffed animal which he named after himself. Next to it was a note that read: “This stuffed animal is for all the moments I can not be with you. Whenever you are afraid, or need a hug and I cannot be with you, he will be. I love you and care about you, and will always be there for you.” We crawled in and looked out. He left the van open, so I could see where we were. He had backed up to the edge of a cliff looking right over a lake and a beautiful sunset. He then got out two glasses and two plates full of a picnic dinner he had brought. Afterwards we cuddled, and I gave him my present to him. It was the most creative thing ever!

Movie Marathon For Two
My boyfriend and I always talk about movies and over the course of our first 8 months of dating, we came up with a bunch of movies that one of us really liked, but the other hadn’t seen. So, we set aside a day, we each rented 4 movies without telling the other what we got, and took turns trading off movies. It took about a day and a half, including the breaks we stuck in there for food and potty, and sleep breaks. It was a lot of fun!
