Movie Night Proposal
My boyfriend of 2 years decided to take me out for a movie one night. Since it’s pretty typical for us to go see a movie, I didn’t think anything of it. He insisted we get there early. So, we walked into the theater as they were playing ads and the word games on the screen. We were even making a little competition over who could figure them out first. All of a sudden a different ad appeared on the screen. It said, “Leigha, Will You Marry Me? Love, Mike” I about died in my chair as he got down on one knee and put the ring on my finger. It was so sweet that he went through the trouble of buying an ad just to ask the question.

Movie Proposal
For my proposal to my girlfriend, I took her to the movies, it is one of our favorite things to do. Many theaters have advertisements that run like a slide show and while you’re waiting for the movie to start, the advertisements run on the screen. I called the manager and got one of those ads. While we sat there and waited for the movie to start, my spot came up and in huge letters on the movie screen it said, “Will you marry me, (followed by name)?” It went over real well!

Museum Exhibit Proposal
I was a poor art student in college living 17 hours away from my girlfriend. I wanted to propose to her in my own unique way. So, I wrote out my true feelings for her on illustration board. I then made it look over 100 years old by applying an aging varnish, and crackling varnish. I had it framed in an 18th century style frame I bought at a cheap art store. Then I arranged with the exhibit director at the local museum in her town to have it hung in a gallery space. (The director didn’t charge me, she loved the idea) I surprised my girlfriend on her graduation weekend by flying in. (Before I saw her I had stopped at the museum to drop off my framed piece). My girlfriend had to run errands all day for her graduation, but I asked her if we could stop at the museum. I explained to her (and lied to her) that a friend of mine from art school happened to have some work on display at the local art museum. I told her I realized she was busy that day but if we could just stop in and see it because it was the last day for his exhibit. We stopped in and I let her walk in the room and look at the art work. Finally she saw a piece of writing hung on the wall that had her name at the top. She read it and finally realized I had done it! By the time she got to the end I was on one knee, and proposed! She loved it, and the best part was she got to show all her classmates her ring and tell the story at graduation!

Musical Gift
One of my best friends is a fabulous singer. We had a singing class together where we were both selected to sing at an honors recital. We had to dress up and sing in front of this big audience. Her boyfriend was there with her and his family as well. They were video taping it. Our director came up after everyone performed and called up my friend to the stage. He handed her this white box that had a big bow on it and sat back down. I thought that perhaps she won a special award or something. She opened the box, and inside was a note that said, “Will you marry me?” Her boyfriend came up to the stage and kneeled down to ask her to be his wife. It was a wonderful way to propose in front of all of her friends and family and to announce his love to the world!

My Prince…
One night my boyfriend of 2 years called and told me to get dressed up enough to go to a formal event. He brought me 6 perfect white roses, and (might I add) looked wonderful in his tux. He then took me to an empty field parked the car and got out in the middle. He started SINGING to me and whispering sweet nothings in my ear. He told me to close my eyes. When he told me to open them He was on his knee holding my hand asking me to forever be his princess.

My Proposal To Him
My boyfriend leaves for work at 6 a.m. every morning. I sleep in until 8, so he’s usually gone when I wake up. He is deaf so he can’t hear the alarm clock go off– which is convenient for my plan. (For those without hearing disabilities, find a more discrete way of waking up first.) I set the alarm for 5:30, which gave me enough time to tape a huge poster board to his windshield saying “Will You Marry Me?” decorated with pictures, words and phrases of special moments that made me fall so much in love with him. He had to walk back in and see what this was all about– I greeted him at the door with a long, passionate kiss while slipping the ring on his finger. He went to work that day bragging to all the guys. And when he came home, we shared a romantic evening at his favorite restaurant– my treat. Goes to show that women can give great proposals too!

Not Quite Ready, Yet…
My boyfriend had bought me a ring that needed resizing. It was supposed to take a week. On the day it was supposed to be ready, he picked me up from university, and told me that the ring wasn’t ready because the jewelers were busy and it would be ready tomorrow. I was upset. When we got home, he told me to check my email, and there was a message from him to tell me to look in a computer game box sitting on a shelf. I looked and there was the ring, all beautifully wrapped up. He got it on the day it was supposed to be ready and hidden it in a box. He is so romantic!!

Perfect Promise
It was my Graduation and my boyfriend was really excited about his gift to me. I began to open the gift, which was a golf ball box. Within four of the sleeves was a little reminder of our terrific past together. The fourth sleeve said to go to the next gift. That gift was a poem in a picture frame that he had written about wanting to spend the rest of his life with me. Then I went to the last sleeve. It contained a beautiful diamond promise ring! I was so surprised. I had no idea. That was the sweetest thing he could have ever done. It was perfect.

Romantic Christmas Proposal Ideas

Phone Proposal Puzzle
My boyfriend and I had been dating for 6 months when he proposed. It was 2 days before Christmas. When I walked into my office there was an envelope that said “Do Not Open Until 8 a.m. Christmas Morning”. So on Christmas morning I opened it; it told me to call a number I had never seen before. Of course, I was cursing under my breath wondering what was going on, but I called. The person that answered was actually one of my co-workers. They asked me a question which I answered and then gave me another number to call. This went on for three questions total. The questions were:

1)What was the name of the character Matt Damon plays in “Good Will Hunting”,
2)What is another name for a sheep,
3)What is the name of Jesus’s mother?
When you answer the questions they came out to “Will You Marry.” The last person had told me to open the door. When I did, my boyfriend was there holding up a sign that said “me.” I read the question out loud, “Will You Marry Me?” and my boyfriend answered, “Yes.” We’ve been married for 3 years now.

Picnic Proposal
My boyfriend is an avid ATV rider, and one day when we were going for a ride, I thought of an idea for a perfect proposal. Go for a nice long ride in the late afternoon and then just happen to come upon a spot (that was set up in advance by friends or yourself) with either a table or a big blanket with a picnic basket. Enjoy a picnic with your sweetheart and lounge around and watch the sunset. Right in the middle of the sunset would be a perfect time to turn and propose to her.

Picture Taking Proposal
This is how my dad proposed to my mom: One day they decided to go to a park. They brought along the camera, and my dad was taking pictures of my mom all day. At some point along the trip, Dad managed to sneak the ring inside the camera where the film is supposed to go. He then asked my mom to take pictures of him. Well, the camera didn’t work … so, he told her to check if there was film in it, and there was the ring! Twenty-eight years later, they’re still happily married.

Plane Ride Proposal
My fiancé’s father is a pilot, and when my boyfriend and I first started dating his dad would take me up in one of those itty bitty two-seater planes, and even started giving me flying lessons. My fiancé’s job caused us to move about 17 hours away, and we didn’t get back home too often – that nixed the flying lessons. After about 3 years of dating we were back home for a visit, and his dad offered to take me on a night time plane ride. Of course I readily accepted. While we were up in the air, he told me to look out the window. My fiancé had spelled out “Will You Marry Me?” in lights across the runway. I couldn’t get off of that plane fast enough! As soon as we landed I ran to the spot, where I found him waiting on one knee with a beautiful diamond ring. It was the most romantic and creative proposal. I said yes, and we’re getting married next July!

Poetic Proposal
My fiancé proposed to me in the most romantic and fun way I could ever imagine. First I have to explain how we met; there was a pen pal website that I saw his pen pal ad on and I decided to write him an e-mail. He’s from Maine and I’m from Oklahoma. We have been together for a year and 3 months now. We talked for 3 months and could tell it was love at first instant message. He moved to Oklahoma and about 3 months later he proposed to me. He picked me up from work one day and asked me if I loved him, and I said yes. He then placed a paper bag with a breathing hole in it on my head and told me not to peek and to trust him. He drove around the town we lived in for about 45 minutes until I was so confused. He stopped then helped me out of the car and told me to hold his hand and follow him. I did. We stopped after walking outside for about 20 minutes. He told me to keep my eyes closed and stand still. He then turned me the direction he wanted me facing and took the bag off of my head. I kept my eyes closed. He was behind me I could hear him. He told me to keep facing forward and not turn around and to open my eyes. When I did there was a picnic basket with a poem on it asking me to marry him. He had taken me to the park we went to for our first picnic. I began to cry as I read the poem. He took my hand from behind, turned me around, and he was on one knee with a ring box. It was so romantic and special. He had packed all my favorite foods in the basket. I still have the poem that asked me to marry him.

Proposal Countdown With Roses
The idea is simple and makes for fun with your love. Shortly after we first started dating, I gave my then girlfriend a single rose and told her that the twelfth rose would come with a ring. There are no patterns on when the roses were given. She got her second rose two months later and on Valentines Day she got 5. On June 4, 2004 she received number 12 hidden beneath a bouquet of what looked like orchids. I had bought her a new baby blue dress, and had her try it on. When she came out I gave her the orchids and got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She stood there at first shocked, asking if I was serious. She knew the twelfth rose was the indicator, but she wouldn’t believe I was proposing until she saw it. Once she found the rose hidden under the orchids, she hugged me. I asked if that was a yes and she nodded her head to let me know it was.
