On Wednesday, the Associated Press wrote the following headline, titled “Trans Minors Protected From Parents Under Washington Law.”
When you look at the headline, one might suspect that was a typo of some sort. The AP might be a leftist rag these days, but even they wouldn’t be asinine enough to frame a story where parents are the bad guys, you might be thinking.

Well, it wasn’t an error as the opening sentence of a straight news article that’s supposed to be the most important part of that story — doubled down on that twisted language.
“Minors seeking gender-affirming care in Washington will be protected from the intervention of estranged parents under a measure Gov. Jay Inslee signed into law Tuesday,” the AP reported.
Gender-affirming care” encompasses child mutilation and confusion. “Estranged parents” could include parents who don’t want their kids to chop off their private parts after being indoctrinated by evil members of society, and carried out by perverted doctors betraying their medical oath.
What the law will do, per the Associated Press, is allow licensed facilities and foster homes to notify Washington State’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families if a minor comes to said shelters seeking help because their parent won’t let them undergo sex denialism and gender-rejection efforts.
Then, the state Department of Children, Youth, and Families is mandated to make a “‘good faith attempt’ to notify parents after they are contacted by shelters or host homes and offer services designed to ‘resolve the conflict and accomplish a reunification of the family,’” the Associated Press reported. In the interim, children who run away from their homes are allowed to stay at host homes separate from their families.
Democratic Governor Jay Inslee said that the purpose of this bill is to adopt “a more compassionate, developmentally appropriate, and reasoned approach to support these youth as they access gender-affirming treatment and reproductive health care services.”
In other words, the loved Governor Mr. Inslee wants the state to supersede the parental right of deciding what’s best for their kids. It isn’t a stretch to see that the government will next take kids from their homes, under the guise of saying that so-called “transgender youths” are being abused by their parents who deny them “access” to life-changing procedures. Translation: Governor doesn't give a shit about the law, it is all about the money. Remember, the money is why some of these laws exist.
The Left think parents shouldn’t have authority over their children, and the AP is all-too-happy to promote that collectivist, anti-family propaganda.
