“You can’t be serious,” Tamara said, dropping herself onto the couch beside Lindsay.

“I am very serious.”

“But they drool and stuff,” Tamara said.

“Well so does Stephen and you don’t seem to be complaining about that,” Lindsay said, flipping through a magazine.

“Stephen does what?” Alexandria asked, coming out of the kitchen with a big bowl of popcorn.

“Drools,” Lindsay said, reaching into the bowl and grabbing a handful of hot buttery popcorn.

“Uh huh. Why are we discussing drooling?”

“Lindsay’s biological clock is bonging again,” Tamara commented as she waved away the popcorn bowl.

“Ahhh,” Alex said, sitting down in a chair across from them with the popcorn bowl on her lap. “I always thought that Tamara would be the first one of us to have a baby.”

Tamara’s mouth dropped open. “Bite your tongue!”

Lindsay smirked and Alex continued, enjoying the tease. “Well you are getting up there in age, you know. If you don’t have one soon you’ll be too old.”

Tamara narrowed her eyes as she looked at Alexandria. “You’re exactly 47 days younger than I am and Lindsay is almost that close so don’t give me this garbage about age.”

“Doesn’t Stephen want kids?” Lindsay asked.

“He brought it up once,” she said, “but I told him I wasn’t ready for kids and that was the end of that.”

“Jonathon wants to have at least 3,” Alex commented.

“That’s because he doesn’t have to carry them around for 9 months and then extract them,” Tamara said.

Lindsay rolled her eyes and looked at Alex. “Have you been seriously thinking about it?”

“She can’t have kids,” Tamara piped up. Alex and Lindsay both looked at her. “Well you’re not married so you can’t have any yet.”

“God Tamara, must we have that birds and bees chat again?”

Tamara smirked, “Yah, tell me about it again only this time don’t leave out all the juicy parts. Actually Lindsay, from what I remember about that chat, I think it takes 2 people to make an ankle-biter.”

“See Lindsay, Tamara does retain a certain amount of information.”

“You win,” Lindsay said to Alex, smiling. “Actually it is possible to have one alone.”

“Where’s the fun in that?” Tamara asked, looking shocked. “I mean wouldn’t it be better to at least have some great sex before spending all those months throwing up and expanding?”

Lindsay ignored Tamara and looked to Alex for logic. “I want to have a baby before I’m too old to enjoy watching it grow up, is there anything wrong with that?”

“I don’t think so,” Alex said, thoughtfully munching on her popcorn. “So you want to have a baby and give up on looking for Mr. Right?”

“I found Mr. Right, and he’s now dead,” Lindsay said flatly, trying not to let the memories flood back. She stared at Alex and continued. “So I’ve been thinking about just going to a sperm bank and making a withdrawal.”

“Hey!” said Tamara. “Maybe you could cash in some of those Air Miles you’ve been saving!”

Lindsay tossed a pillow at her. “I have an appointment tomorrow to find out about the routine and after that I’ll study all of the material and see if it’s the route I want to follow.”

“Will this require you making a graph?” Tamara asked, trying not to laugh. She loved to tease Lindsay about her graphs and flow charts. For some reason Lindsay was always able to comprehend something better if she could chart it — she’d been a financial analyst for too long.

“Make fun all you want, but tomorrow I’m going sperm shopping.”

She wasn’t exactly sure what she expected a sperm bank would look like. Tamara had teased last night that it would be a building in the shape of a big happy sperm and now Lindsay couldn’t get rid of that visual image.

“Can I help you?” an overly friendly receptionist asked her.

“Hi, I have an appointment with Dr. Douglas. My name is Lindsay Atkins.”

The receptionist looked through her book and then smiled. “Dr. Douglas is just finishing up with another patient and then he’ll see you. Have a seat please.”

Lindsay sat and looked around the waiting room, trying not to make eye contact with anyone. It was hard not to wonder if everyone else was there for the same reason that she was. She absently flipped through a magazine, shifting uncomfortably in her chair.

“Miss Atkins?” Lindsay looked up at the receptionist. “You can come in now.”

She dropped the magazine back in the pile and followed her into a small examining room. She chose a chair instead of sitting on the table and crossed her legs, clasping her hands in her lap and trying to talk herself into staying there. Maybe Tamara was right — maybe she should do it the old fashioned way. Everything was so white and clean in the room – sterile. Standing up, she started walking around the room, reading the different posters on the walls. Charts and diagrams showed the basic procedure and for once she didn’t care to sort it all out in her mind. Her eyes shifted to a picture of a baby who was smiling for the camera. Standing in front of it, she reached out and touched the baby’s chubby cheek, letting her finger run down it.

“Mommy tell me again how my Daddy was a test tube.”

“Well honey he was a very nice looking test tube that said his name was DX-980987 and he had an expiry date!”

Lindsay shook her head and grabbed her purse — this was no way to have a baby.

She walked for blocks until she finally hit the harbor front. The wind was gently blowing her long auburn hair around her face. Behind her dark sunglasses, her deep green eyes were filling with tears. She felt so lost and such an ache that she could barely contain herself from bursting into tears. Silently she cursed her biological clock and wished she could turn it off. Months ago the feeling was strong and now it had become overwhelming. She couldn’t stand looking at pregnant women and when she saw a baby carriage coming, she turned in another direction. She walked, unfocused on her destination, as she fought her emotions.

“Hey Lindsay!”

It took her a second to register that someone was calling her name. She stopped and looked around before noticing a man standing about 10 feet behind her coiling up a dock line.

“Peter?”

He walked up to her, holding out his hand. She took it and smiled, and he gently accepted her hand and squeezed it. “You just walked right by me!”

She smiled, taking her hand back. “Sorry, kind of in my own little world there. How are you doing?”

“I’m doing okay,” he said, smiling directly at her. “How about yourself? You’re looking beautiful as always.”

Lindsay smiled and shook her head, “Always the flatterer. I’m doing okay too, busy as usual.”

He reached out and took off her sunglasses, staring into her squinting eyes. As they adjusted to the brightness, he looked at her, concerned. “Emerald eyes shouldn’t be so blue Lindsay.”

Retrieving her sunglasses, she put them back and looked at the ground. “Just having a bad day, I guess.” She looked back up at him, “What are you doing down here?”

“Playing with my new toy,” he said, nodding back behind him.

Lindsay moved around him and looked at the gorgeous boat in front of her. “That’s uhmmm, a very big toy Peter.”

“I’m a big boy,” he said, moving beside her, “so I needed a big toy.”

“Is that considered a boat or a yacht?” she asked.

“They classify it as a sports yacht,” he said, walking beside her. “Want to take a look around?”

She beamed, “I’d love to.”

Peter stepped aboard first and held out his hand, helping her onto the wide swim platform. He opened the transom door and stood aside allowing her to enter the spacious cockpit. He kicked off his shoes and she followed suit. “Let me give you the full tour then.” He led her around, telling her about its features, although she only caught bits and pieces. Peter’s voice had always done something to her that she felt probably wasn’t quite natural. As soon as she heard that deep timber she immediately felt her panties get damp. She had never considered that a good thing since he was one of her firm’s clients.

“It’s 41.6 feet long to be exact, which is probably too big for just one old guy like me who likes to tour around, but as soon as I saw her, I knew I was in love.” He smiled at her, “I spent over a month thinking about it and once a week I’d go down to visit the dealer, thinking each time I went that I’d change my mind because it’s so extravagant. But every time I went it just got worse. Everywhere I looked I kept seeing the ‘400 Sundancer’ and me at its helm. Try as I might, I just couldn’t get it out of my mind so I gave in and placed the order. I’m afraid that it became an…”

“Obsession,” she said, finishing his sentence.

“Besides being beautiful, you’re one bright lady,” he said, smiling back. “Now I’ll have to make sure that John Warwick does his job so I can pay for this thing before I die.”

Warwick was Peter’s personal financial advisor and one of the best in the business, which explained why Peter had been with him for so long. Lindsay had followed John around for almost a year, drawing from his knowledge and learning from his mistakes — not that he made many. Two years ago John had introduced her to Peter because she was to watch over Peter’s accounts while John took a much-needed vacation. It was during that month in John’s absence that she began to know what Peter was all about and found herself dangerously attracted to him –although she never let it show. She turned down his offers for dinner and remained professional. She looked over at Peter now and smiled, trying to think of something intelligent to ask.

“How much would something like this weigh?” she asked, feeling stupid after it came out of her mouth.

He raised an eyebrow and smiled. “Well according to the manual, its dry weight is 22,600 pounds. It also holds 335 gallons of fuel in case that’s your next question.”

Lindsay laughed, knowing he was making fun of her. “Can I see the cabin?”

“Absolutely, that’s the best part.” He led her down the stairs and waited for her to take it all in.

“Wow,” she said in total awe of what was before her. “This is like a full sized kitchen!”

“We call it the galley, but yah, it has all the comforts of home including a microwave for those of us who are stove-challenged.”

She ran her hand over the smooth granite countertop, her eyes scanning the beautiful cedar cabinets. “Very impressive.”

Across from kitchen was a half-moon shaped couch with a table in front of it, supported by a single pedestal. Peter watched her and explained that the table came out of the floor and the couch flipped down into a bed.

“How many can sleep down here?” she asked, adoring the creamy white leather of the couch. It looked soft and inviting.

“It’ll sleep six comfortably or so I’m told. You’re my first guest.”

He slowly led her around, pointing out some of the different features. It amazed her how much storage space there was and just how beautifully laid out everything was. The space itself was so well designed that it appeared to be much larger than it really was.

“And this is the master stateroom,” he said, stepping aside and letting her walk by him. Before her was a huge bed that was elliptical in shape. Like the rest of the cabin it had plenty of storage space. Handcrafted cedar cabinets were everywhere and they gave the overall look a very warm feeling.

“What’s in there?” she asked, pointing to a large cabinet opposite the bed.

“That’s an entertainment unit — TV, VCR and other stuff you don’t want to be without.”

She smiled at him, “Really roughing it when you’re on here, huh?”

“Well I haven’t figured out how to install a hot tub yet, but I’m working on it.”

“I’m very impressed Peter,” she said.

“I’d be really impressed if you’d join me for dinner tonight, Lindsay,” he said, smiling softly at her.

“Peter, I…”

“Don’t give me that same old ‘client’ bullshit, Lindsay. I’m a client where you work – not YOUR client. I don’t consider that the same thing and if that is still the problem, then I’ll take my business elsewhere.”

“That’s blackmail,” she said, smiling at him.

He shrugged and jammed his hands in his pocket, grinning widely. “I didn’t get where I am today by always playing nice, Lindsay.”

She looked at him seriously, “Peter, I…”

“It’s just dinner on the boat, nothing more nothing less. Dinner shared by two people who have been casual acquaintances for a couple of years.”

“But what I was…”

“We don’t even have to go out on the water if you don’t want, we can stay right here in the marina, that’s fine with me. I’d just really like to have dinner with you.”

“Peter?”

“Yes?”

“Let me know when it’s my turn to talk, will you?”

Peter grinned. “Okay, I will.” He stared at her and smiled, checked his watch three times and then told her it was her turn.

She rolled her eyes. “What I was trying to say before I was so rudely interrupted was, Peter, I would love to have dinner with you tonight.”

Lindsay arrived back at the marina just a little after 7:00, carrying a large bouquet of wild flowers. She dressed lightly in a stark white sundress and a pair of sandals. For the first time in months she actually felt happy because it was the first time that her primary thoughts weren’t wrapped around having a baby.

Peter was waiting for her, pacing in front of the boat. When he saw her, his face lit up. “Hey, right on woman’s time!”

“Well I was here about half an hour ago but I sat in the car until I was officially late.” She handed him the flowers and smiled. “A little something to brighten up your day.”

He took the flowers and smiled at her, “Thank you, but these will be the second thing to brighten my day. The first agreed to have dinner with me earlier.”

He helped her aboard the boat and led her below decks into the cabin where he had little piles of chopped vegetables everywhere. Peter poured her a glass of white wine and pulled out a tall stool for her to sit on so she could be close to him while he cooked.

“I hope you like chicken stir fry,” he said, “because it’s about all I know how to cook that requires the stove. If this doesn’t work out we’ll go to plan B which includes the microwave and TV dinners.”

She smiled and took a sip of her wine. “I love it. Can I do something to help you?”

“Sure — you can tell me what was on your mind this morning when you walked right by me and didn’t see a thing. I believe you were a little preoccupied.”

She picked up a carrot and nibbled on it, hoping he’d stop staring at her with those intense brown eyes.

“Lindsay?”

“Hmmm?”

“If it’s too personal, I understand.” He put the wok on the stove and turned on the burner before adding a little oil to it.

She watched as he studied the wok for a moment and then added small chunks of raw chicken to the bubbling oil. She studied his smooth movements as he moved the chicken around the wok. Lindsay remembered the first time she saw him and how she couldn’t help but be attracted to him. It wasn’t so much his looks, although he was a very distinguished looking man. It was all in the way he presented himself. There were no false airs about him and he always told it like he saw it. Maybe that is why she liked him so much and was also uncomfortable around him at times.

“I was just pondering life and its fates,” she said finally.

“And what did you decide?” he asked as he stirred the chicken around.

“Life sucks,” she replied, grinning at him.

Peter looked at her as he took a sip of his wine. “Not always a true statement, Lindsay. Tell me why you think that.”

“It’s just unfair sometimes, I guess.”

“That it is, my dear.” Peter removed the chicken from the wok and placed it into a glass dish before dropping the various chopped vegetables into the wok. “But for the most part, life is good for you, isn’t it?”

Lindsay found herself getting lost in a fantasy as Peter talked. Her mind drifted back to having a baby and the kind of father that Peter would make. From everything that she knew about him he would be the ideal candidate; and besides his obvious qualities she was also attracted to him in a major way.

“Are there any forms of mental illness in your family?” she blurted out and then blushed furiously. Where the hell had that come from?

Peter laughed and looked at her. “Uhmm, not that I can think of. Well, my niece Rosa used to be my nephew Ross but we blame that on the other side of the family. Other than that, I think we are fairly stable. Why?”

“That smells really good,” she said, changing the topic fast.

“And I think it’s just about done. Where would you like to eat? We could eat down here at the table or go topside and enjoy the evening. I could set up a table out there if you’d like.”

“Outside, definitely. Could we go out onto the long front piece and sit there?”

Peter laughed. “It’s called the bow. I think we need to get you versed in sailor lingo.”

“I already know how to swear,” she said, refilling their wineglasses.

“We can crawl up onto the bow, yes.”

He looked at her and smiled, wondering how to best go about that plan. He decided on bowls instead of plates, and as he gathered up their utensils he watched her out the corner of his eye. He couldn’t believe that she had finally agreed to have dinner with him. He’d been waiting for her to say yes for a very long time now, and when she finally said yes today he wasn’t sure that he’d heard her right. It seemed to him that for the past 10 years of being single, he’d been searching for something that he’d never found until he met Lindsay. He admired her intelligence and high standards although those standards are the same ones that kept turning down his dinner invitations over and over again. When she handled his portfolio during John’s vacation times, he always made sure that he took a greater interest in it than normal just so he could spend time with her. He didn’t think he was obsessive about her, but he probably wasn’t a good judge on that point either.

“You bring the wineglasses and the bottle and I’ll take the tray.”

They sat cross-legged on the foredeck, looking across the water while eating their stir-fry from glass bowls in a comfortable silence. Peter smiled as he watched Lindsay. This isn’t quite what he had planned. He had pictured them at the little table in the cabin, candles burning, and soft music playing and yet here they were doing quite the opposite and it was just as perfect. She was sitting close to him, her dress tucked under her legs to stop the wind from blowing it up. From where he sat he could smell her perfume and his mind wandered.

“This is really good Peter,” she said as she turned to look at him. “Admit it, you’re really a great chef.”

“Actually breakfasts are more my specialty,” he said, smirking at her. She smiled back but didn’t take the bait. “Would you like to go out on the water?”

~:~:~
She sat beside him as he guided the boat past the breakwater and through the channel at idle speed, admiring the way he made it look so easy. The night sky was dark, adorned by a million tiny stars and what appeared to almost be a full moon. Leaning her head back against the seat, she looked up and took in the whole feeling. The water was calm and the noises of the city were soon lost to the gentle lapping of the waves against the sides of the boat and the hum of the engines.

When he cleared the channel, Peter looked over at her and smiled. “Do you want to drive?”

“Depends,” she said turning in her seat. “How much do you like this toy of yours?”

“Quite a bit, why?”

“Then you shouldn’t let me drive it.”

“Oh, come here,” he said, holding out his hand. “I’ll show you how, it’s really quite easy.” She took his hand and he pulled her over, sitting her down between his spread legs. He put her hands on the steering wheel and started pointing to the different gauges, telling her what each of them were. As he talked, he rested his chin on her shoulder, trying not to think of how close her neck was to his mouth. Her hair was brushing gently against his cheek, her back pressed against his chest and her bottom was — God, he didn’t want to even think about that for fear he’d embarrass himself if she moved back any harder.

Lindsay listened to his voice and felt his body hard against hers. She tried to concentrate on what he was telling her but it was useless. His breath was against her cheek, and then her neck, as he held her with one arm around her waist while he pointed to the dials on the dashboard. His fingers stroked her side as he talked about the significance of the gauge going up and down and she squeezed her thighs together. There was something about his mouth so close to her — his voice talking about going up and down and his fingers dancing lightly up and down her side that made her lose any form of concentration that she might have had otherwise.

Peter found himself over-explaining what every gauge did just so he wouldn’t break the spell. He could hear her breathing speed up as her body tensed against his.

“So there you have it,” he whispered against her ear. “Now you know everything except how much I’d like to be ravishing your neck right now.”

Her hands were gripping the steering wheel tightly and he placed his hands over hers. “I’m not trying to scare you, Lindsay, and you need to know that with one word I’ll back off. I’m just so wildly attracted to you that I can’t seem to get past it. I’ve tried to do that with each rejection but it’s never worked. I can’t shake this feeling and to be honest, I’m not completely sure that I ever wanted to.”

Lindsay turned her head, bringing her face very close to his. Leaning forward she brushed her lips against his. He moved one hand to the back of her head, gently pushing his fingers into her hair as he pulled her lips closer to his. The kiss was soft, almost innocent. He couldn’t believe he was finally kissing her and as he pushed his lips harder against hers, she parted her lips, allowing him to taste her. His other arm wrapped around her waist and hers went around his neck as the kiss deepened, becoming more passionate by the second. He moaned against her mouth as she pressed her body back against his. When she pulled away, her lips were still half parted, as were her eyelids. The sight of her took his breath away.

“Peter?” she whispered softly.

“Hmmm,” he said, leaning forward to kiss her chin.

“Who’s driving the boat?

“Who cares?” he mumbled against her neck.

“Your bank manager might,” she said, laughing as she pushed his head back. “How do we park this thing?”

Peter laughed and shifted behind her. “Well I think we need to head a little further offshore before we drop anchor — or ‘park’ as you call it.” He picked up her hand and put it on the throttle. “Let’s make some waves Baby.” He held his hand over hers and pushed the throttle forward slowly. As they picked up speed, the bow rose out of the water like a giant tarpon leaping out of the waves. The boat quickly got onto plane and settled back into the water slightly as it surged forward, moving with ease over the calm sea.

Lindsay’s hair was blowing against his cheek and he turned his head and watched the obvious excitement on her face as she steered the boat.

“How fast are we going?” she yelled.

Peter looked down, “Uhmmm almost 25 knots. This is a good speed to cruise.” He took his hand off of hers and sat back, letting her maneuver the boat. He rubbed his hands over her bare shoulders, feeling her shiver as he touched her. Leaning forward, he whispered in her ear, “Are you cold?”

“This is wonderful!” she said, grinning at him, looking like an excited child.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and watched over her shoulder as she continued to take them across the water. He turned his head and kissed her neck as she tilted her head slightly for a moment and then elbowed him when he started sucking on her skin.

“Hey buddy! I’m trying to drive here! Cut that out!”

Peter laughed and shook his head, leaning back against the seat. “What am I supposed to play with while you’re playing with my new toy?” he asked.

She laughed and pushed the throttle forward more; speeding up the boat and feeling the adrenaline rush through her body. It was such an incredible feeling of freedom. He let her drive for a while longer before suggesting they pull over at the next roadside stop and park.

“That’s ‘drop anchor’ Peter,” she said, correcting him.

He helped her gradually slow the boat down, feeling it as it gently settled back down into the water. When the boat was settled, Peter pushed a button for the power windlass and the anchor automatically began to lower.

“Are we parked?” Lindsay asked, smirking at the term.

“Almost,” he said before putting the boat into reverse for a moment to set the anchor and then he shut down the engines. “There, we are officially parked now.”

“It’s so beautiful out here,” Lindsay said, leaning back against him and looking into the night sky.

“Certainly is,” he said, looking at her and not the sky. “Are you ever going to tell me what was bothering you earlier today?”

Lindsay closed her eyes and sighed. “Nope.”

Peter laughed, “Alright then. Would you like some more wine or something else to drink?”

“Good plan, let’s get drunk and rowdy,” Lindsay said, standing up. She immediately felt the chill as soon as she left the warmth of Peter’s body.

He walked beside her, wrapping his arm around her waist as they moved down into the cabin. She was shivering slightly and he pulled her closer. “I think we need to get you warmed up a little. How about a sweater?”

How about your body wrapped around mine? “Sounds great, thanks. I never thought to bring one. Do I get to pick it out?”

He raised a brow, “You want to rifle through my closets and pick out your own sweater?”

She nodded and grinned, “Yup.”

He leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest, “Just why is that? I mean, you’re wearing white so it’s not like any of them are going to clash, plus no one else is around so it’s not like the fashion police are going to stop and arrest you.”

Lindsay moved past him and headed towards the bedroom, “I’ll just look around until I find one — amuse yourself while I’m gone.”

She smiled and stepped into the bedroom, closing the door behind her. She leaned her back against the door, feeling her heart pounding hard. What the hell was she doing? It was the wine — it had to be the wine because all she could think of doing right now was crawling all over his body. She closed her eyes and could hear her heart pounding wildly in her ears. The way she saw it, she had three choices. She could find a sweater, pull it on over her sundress and leave the bedroom, or she could find a sweater, pull it on over her naked body and leave the bedroom. Or…the third choice involved getting naked, forgetting the sweater and not leaving the bedroom.

“Find anything interesting yet?” he called from outside the door.

“Uhmm, working on it,” she said, moving away from the door. She began opening drawers and found most of them empty. “You’re not exactly well stocked in here!”

She heard him laugh and moving around — then suddenly soft music filled the bedroom. “I thought you could use some mood music in there,” he commented, leaning against the door and wondering exactly what she was doing.

Lindsay finally found where he was keeping the few clothes he had on board. She picked through them and pulled out a long jean shirt and held it up. Smiling, she wondered which plan to follow. The feeling of his arms around her and his lips against her neck while she was driving the boat came back to her and she started pulling off her sundress. She hung it up and then quickly removed her panties and bra before she could change her mind. Slipping into the shirt, her shaking fingers struggled with the buttons. She rolled up the sleeves, feeling the shirttails hanging down around her thighs.

“I poured you some more wine,” he said as he dimmed the lights.

“Wonderful, thanks,” she replied, looking in his mirror and trying to straighten out her hair. She put the collar up on the shirt and at the last minute, undid the button that was right over her breasts.

“Need any help in there?”

Lindsay took a deep breath and opened the door. She smiled at him and watched his jaw drop. Walking by him, she moved over to the counter top that held their wineglasses and picked up the one with the faint lipstick mark on it. She tried not to feel self-conscious as she sipped her wine and stared at him over the rim of the glass.

Peter felt his mouth go dry as he tried not to gawk at her long bare legs. He wanted to say something — anything, but his tongue wouldn’t cooperate. He pushed himself away from the wall and walked over to her, picking up his glass and taking a mouthful of wine, hoping to cure his dehydrated mouth. They stood there staring at each other for a long moment.

“Would you like to dance?” he asked his voice barely audible.

Lindsay put her glass down and nodded, smiling at him innocently. She felt so incredibly sexy that her whole body was tingling.

He took her hand and led her into the middle of the cabin and then pulled her close to him, entwining his fingers through hers. Rubbing his hand up and down her back, he was very aware of just how close she was. As they swayed slowly, she pressed her cheek against his, sighing softly in his ear. As he rubbed her back, the shirt moved up and down and Peter groaned softly when her back was pointed to a mirror panel beside the couch and he caught a glimpse of the tops of her thighs.

“Are you okay?” she asked, leaning back to look at him.

“Oh yah,” he said wondering when his voice became an octave higher.

He moved his head forward and kissed her softly, tasting the sweetness of her lips. The kiss started softly and became more passionate; their lips pressing harder as their mouths parted and tongues explored. He let go of her hand and pushed his through her hair, pulling her mouth harder against his own. His mouth devoured hers as her body melted against his. They pulled away to catch their breath and stare at each other.

He cupped her face, stroking her cheeks with his thumbs. “You have no idea what you do to me,” he whispered softly before pulling her back to kiss her again. His tongue traced over her lips, flicking at the corners of her mouth before he sucked on her bottom lip. Lindsay’s grip around his waist tightened as his tongue moved into her mouth and stroked hers. Her body moved against his, still swaying slightly only not to the music anymore, but to the music their bodies had started to play.

The shrill sound of his cell phone stopped the kiss and he pulled back, releasing her. “Family phone,” he explained as he left her standing there, panting slightly.

“This better be damned important,” he said into the receiver, smiling at her as he listened to the voice on the other end. “Could we discuss this some other time, Tim?” Lindsay went back to her wineglass and his eyes followed her. “Well I’m kind of busy right now.” She sat on the couch and slowly crossed her legs. The shirt slowly crept up her thighs and Peter’s eyes followed its journey, mesmerized by what it was revealing. “Yah, I’m still here. Listen Tim, I love you dearly, son, but I have to tell you, you’re wrecking my social life.” He watched Lindsay dip her finger into her wine and then bring her finger to her mouth, sucking on it. Peter felt a stirring that wasn’t exactly a familiar one anymore. “Go ask your mother,” he said and turned the phone off, tossing it back onto the counter. He returned to the middle of the floor and held out his hand.

“You have 2 kids, right?” she asked, not moving off the couch.

“Depends,” he said, jamming his hands in his pockets. “Are we going to continue the dance?”

“Nope.”

“Then I now officially have none,” he said, letting out a huge exaggerated sigh. He looked at her and smiled. “I have 2 sons. Gary is 19 and Tim is 15 and about to be grounded until he’s 40.”

He walked over, picked up his wine and then sat down beside her. “They live with their mother throughout the school year and spend most of their summer vacation with me. Tim was only 5 when we got divorced and it seemed to hit him the hardest.” He looked at her and wondered why he was telling her this. “How about you Lindsay, do you have any I don’t know about?” He regretted the teasing question the moment it left his lips because of the look on her face.

“No,” she whispered, feeling the ache again. Suddenly she didn’t feel sexy anymore, she just felt alone. She looked at him and he stroked her cheek. “But I want one,” she blurted out and then couldn’t stop herself. “I want one so badly that lately it’s more than I can handle. I think about it constantly and its almost become an….”

“Obsession,” he said, finishing her sentence. “That I understand — an obsession, that is, not the ache to have a baby.”

As he looked into her eyes he saw that they had changed to the same color that they had been earlier in the day and he instantly knew the reason she had walked right by him. He leaned over and kissed the tip of her nose, his heart swelling with emotion for her. He had always known that he wanted her and for more than just the physical aspects of a relationship.

“I want a baby,” she said softly, touching his face.

“I wish I had one to give you,” he whispered back. “I could supply you with a 15 year old with really bad timing, pretty quickly though.”

She turned and draped her legs over his, feeling his arms engulf her. He pressed his forehead against hers. “You want one bad, huh?”

She nodded and stared into his eyes. “Have you ever thought about having another one?”

“No, I haven’t thought about it at all,” he said, rubbing his nose against hers. “I’m 43 years old Lindsay and I have 2 great kids who I adore. Well I adore Gary and I might adore Tim again later.” He smiled and then frowned when he looked into her eyes.

“What if you get married again and your wife wants to have a baby?” she asked, quite seriously.

His hand moved up her calf lightly, “Then I guess I’d be working hard to fulfill that want, wouldn’t I?”

“I bet you’re a great Dad,” she said, pressing against him as his hand moved farther up her leg.

“I am,” he whispered, grinning. “I just hung up on my kid because all I could think about was making love to you. I’m just the greatest Dad there ever was.”

Her arms tightened around his neck and she pulled him down, half on top of her. As they kissed passionately, his hand moved up over her bare hip, stroking her soft skin. Her body arched as he released her lips and started kissing down her neck, sucking on her skin softly. Slowly his hand moved up her side, over her ribs until his thumb brushed against the underside of her breast. He tried to move but found himself trapped in an awkward position.

“I do have a bed you know,” he said as his thumb moved up and made contact with her erect nipple.

Lindsay shifted herself to the edge of the couch, and wrapped her arms around his neck and let herself drop down to the floor, pulling him with her. He landed beside her and looked down at her passion-filled eyes, forgetting about the bed. Leaning down he kissed her chest as his fingers worked on the buttons of her shirt. He licked between her breasts as he pushed the shirt back, revealing her body to him. He kissed the gentle swell of her breast, taking the time to lick her skin everywhere. His tongue circled her puffy nipple and her back arched. He felt her fingers pushing back though his hair, pulling his mouth harder against her as he continued to trace it with his tongue. Gently, he sucked it into his mouth and listened to her soft moans, feeling them wash through his body. Sucking in, he pulled his head back and teased the tip of her nipple with his tongue. He loved the way her body arched as his hand moved down over her stomach, touching every available inch of her skin. Her fingernails scratched the back of his neck as his fingers slid down over her hip to her thigh and then slowly ventured in between her legs, stroking her inner thigh with the lightest of touches.

Lindsay raised her hips, trying to move his fingers closer to where she ached for them. Trying to concentrate, she moved her hands down his back as far as she could and started pulling at his shirt. She managed to pull it out of his jeans and up to his shoulders before she had to stop. His thumb was brushing over her pussy lips as his mouth made its way over to her other breast, licking and kissing until his lips met with her nipple. His tongue lashed out at it as he tried to keep his hand steady. Lindsay was moving her hips up and down, anxiously trying to get him to touch her more but he was enjoying the tease and the anticipation.

“Peter please…” she moaned, pushing herself against him. He moved one leg over hers and immediately felt her knee move up and start rubbing against his crotch.

“Lindsay,” he moaned, trying to prop himself up on one elbow. He looked down at her, his heart pounding wildly as their bodies continued to grind against each other. He put his arm under her neck and touched her face with his other hand. “Lindsay, I need to know something before we continue.”

She reached up and pulled his head down to hers, kissing him hard as she pushed her body against his. Her fingers pulled at his hair as her tongue probed his mouth. Peter pushed one arm around her waist and rolled, pulling her on top of him, their legs tangled. His heart was pounding furiously and his body ached for her. With his hands on her head, he pushed her back, panting.

“Lindsay, I really need to know something.”

“Later,” she whispered, trying to move her head forward. “Right now I want you so badly.”

“Darling,” he said, trying to concentrate on his question and not how her body was rubbing against his. “I need to know that we’re doing this because of the pent up passion between us and not because you’re looking for a sperm donation.”

Lindsay stopped moving and looked him in the eye. For a moment she felt extremely hurt that he would actually think that, but logic told her that in his position she would probably be thinking the same thing.

“Your sperm is the furthest thing from my mind right now, Peter.” She licked his hand and smiled at him. “What I’m thinking right now is that one of us is extremely overdressed.”

She pushed herself up, straddling his waist. “Do you remember the first time John went on vacation and you came by the office just as I was leaving?”

He reached up and pushed open her shirt, looking at her beautiful breasts. His finger traced her nipple. “Yes, I do. Why?”

Reaching down, she pulled his shirt up so she was sitting against his skin. As she undid the buttons she began to rub her wet pussy against his stomach. He moaned and rolled her nipple between his thumb and forefinger. She finished undoing his buttons and pushed his shirt back and then started rubbing her palms against his chest. His skin was hot beneath her touch.

“It was the first time we were alone together,” she said softly, pushing down harder until she could feel her clit rubbing against his skin. Her nails dug into his chest as she slowly ground herself against him.

“Yes, it was,” he said, wondering if she was ever going to make her point; but then again, he really didn’t even care if she had one. He could feel her juices soaking his skin. Cupping her breasts, he squeezed them gently, feeling her nipples hard against his palms. Her nails were digging into his chest harder and scratching downward and she moved faster on him. When she moved back her ass was hitting his cock which was still trapped in his jeans. He wasn’t sure how much of this he could take.

Lindsay moaned and dragged her fingers down his chest and then moved them behind her, trying to undo the button on his jeans. After fighting with the button, she released the zipper blindly.

“You had to take a call and I watched you,” she said as her hand slipped into his briefs. Her fingertips touched the head of his pounding cock, feeling the wetness.

Peter moaned and raised his hips, letting his hands slide down from her breasts to her hips. “Talked on the phone…right…” He guided her hips back and forth, pushing up against her. She wiggled out of his grip and moved down over his hips and thighs, sitting on his knees.

“And as I watched you walk around the room, I could feel your voice seeping into my body. It really turned me on, Peter.”

“So my voice turns you on then?” he said, catching his breath as her nails moved under the waistband of his jeans and briefs and started dragging them down. He raised his hips and watched the intense look on her face as she fought to pull his jeans down. When she had them down to her knees, she lightly ran her nails up his thighs, causing his whole body to shiver.

“It did then — still does,” she whispered softly, her eyes meeting his. “The whole package has always turned me on, Peter.” She smiled and then leaned down, flicking her tongue against the tip of his cock.

Peter reached down and stroked her hair, feeling her tongue circling the head of his cock. Her mouth was hot and wet as she lowered it, taking him slowly into her mouth. His fingers tightened in her hair as she started moving her mouth up and down his shaft, tightening her lips as she pulled her head back. Her tongue lashed out and then her teeth would graze his skin just before her tongue would start again. Her hair was spread out over his stomach, moving back and forth with her head. Holding the back of her head, he pumped his hips up and down faster, unable to control the urge to fuck her mouth.

“God Lindsay,” he groaned, feeling her nails digging into his hips and her nipples brushing back and forth against his thighs as she sucked him harder and faster. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back, talking himself out of cumming in her mouth.

Lindsay felt his cock lurching in her mouth and slowed down a little. She listened to him moaning her name over and over again, feeling her pussy juices running down her inner thigh. She sucked in really hard and slowly pulled her mouth back, pulling on his cock hard until only his swollen head was still in her mouth. She circled it with her tongue and then released it, raising her eyes to look at him. She smiled at the look of pure passion on his face and then crawled up him, like a cat on the prowl.

She lowered herself against his cock, pressing it between her pussy and his stomach. He moaned and reached for her hands, entwining his fingers in hers as she started to slide up and down his cock.

“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered, wanting desperately to bury himself in her although the feeling of her wet lips rubbing up and down his shaft was driving him crazy.

She smiled and slid forward, the head of his cock rubbing against her clit. Her body shivered as she moved very little, back and forth, feeling the hardness of her clit against his cock. He pulled his hands back, bringing her forward. His fingers tightened around hers as he pulled her down against his chest. She kissed his chest as she pushed against his hands, pushing her whole body back again until his cock was against her ass. Wiggling, she raised herself and pushed back again, feeling his cock slip between her lips. He raised his hips and she moved down, feeling his cock slide forward and then enter her slowly. Their moans filled the small room as he slowly began to fill her.

“Oh God,” she moaned, squeezing his hands as she pushed herself up until she was almost sitting up. Her pussy contracted around his cock, sucking it in and holding it tight. “Mmmmm that feels so good,” she whispered.

She let go of his hands and placed her hands on his stomach as he moved his to her hips. Gripping her tightly, he lifted her up and down slowly at first, savoring the feeling of her hot pussy melting around his cock. As her fingernails started digging into his stomach, he moved her faster up and down, pumping up into her at the same time. He watched her toss her head back and close her eyes, moaning and whimpering inaudible words. His eyes moved down to her breasts, bouncing up and down each time she slammed against him. His eyes moved lower and he moaned as he watched his cock disappear into her pussy and then reappear, wet and shiny.

“God yes!” she screamed. She was controlling her own motions now, slamming down hard against him and grinding back and forth. “Peter, yes, yes… God yes, fuck…. Peter,” she whimpered over and over again until he felt her body tense. He reached down and started stroking her swollen clit as her nails bit back into his flesh.

“Cum for me, Lindsay,” he said, rubbing his thumb back and forth over her clit and rocking his hips slowly. He watched with total pleasure as her body began to shake uncontrollably, feeling her pussy tighten hard around his cock, contracting several times before he could feel a warm rush surround his cock. He moved his hands to stroke her sides as she tried to regroup. He smiled at her.

“What are you smiling for?” she asked teasingly, still panting.

“Just thinking how good you look in my shirt, that’s all.”

“Glad you think so because I’m not giving it back,” she said as she laid down on his chest.

Wrapping her arms around his neck she held him tight and leaned to one side. Peter held her and rolled, trying not to squish her. He had forgotten that his pants were still around his knees and tried to steady himself. He felt like a teenager in the back of a car. He looked down at her, so beautiful beneath him. This was the woman who entered his dreams every night and interrupted his thoughts during the day.

Lindsay brought her legs up and wrapped them around his waist, pulling him down hard against her. He put his arms under her back and held onto her shoulders with his hands. As he buried his face into her neck, he started pounding his cock into her waiting pussy. He couldn’t believe how wet she was or how strong her powerful thighs were as she squeezed him tightly between them. He kissed her neck, feeling her pulse running rapid beneath his lips. She moved her head and he brought his lips down hard against hers, kissing her passionately, sucking on his tongue and biting at her lips as he hammered into her harder, encouraged by the moans and whimpers against his mouth.

Her body became still for a brief second and then started thrashing below him. He pulled his head back and they watched each other through unfocused eyes. He pulled back slowly and then rammed his cock in deep, repeating the thrusts several times before he could see that she was about to cum again.

“Peter,” she screamed out against his ear. She arched her back and tightened her already bone-crushing leg grip around his waist. Her fingernails scratched down his back and then dug into his hips as she started to cum.

“Cum with me, Lindsay,” he managed to moan before thrusting into her once again. He tensed in her arms and then shuttered as he exploded inside of her, rocking slowly as his cock jerked inside of her. She could feel his cock expanding inside of her and then jerking forward. Suddenly she was filled with his heat and she rocked slowly beneath him, feeling their combined juices running down her ass.

He licked her forehead and then kissed her nose, moving down until he found her lips and kissed her softly, tasting her passion from her lips. He pulled away from her lips and planted little kisses all over her face, finally feeling her leg grip loosen.

“I have a confession,” he said, propping himself up on his elbows as his fingers pushed away the hair from her face. She looked at him but said nothing.

“Want to hear it?” he asked, kissing her nose.

She smiled and nodded, touching his face and hair. “Sure.”

“Well I’ve had several fantasies about what it would be like to make love you Lindsay. All in different places — beautiful romantic settings all over the world, where it revolved around us and we made the most beautiful love together.”

She smiled at the thought of him sitting in his office daydreaming about them. “And?”

“Well in none of those dreams did we only get half undressed and make love on the floor.” He kissed her softly and then pressed his forehead against hers, looking deeply into her emerald eyes. “And none of those dreams even came close to being even half as beautiful as what we just did.”

She thought she was going to cry. Was it possible that one man could be this perfect for her and actually want to be with her at the same time? Maybe she needed to rethink her earlier statement about life sucking so badly. Before she could say anything, he moved off her and pulled off his jeans. Standing up, he reached down and pulled her up and held her close to him, stroking her hair and her back. She held him tight and then he reached down and picked her up.

“I think I mentioned earlier that I have a bed,” he whispered into her ear as he carried her into the bedroom.

Peter sat alone on the foredeck of ‘Obsession’, watching as the sun slowly started to make its entrance once again. He rolled his coffee cup between his palms, warming his hands against the hot glass. He had never thought about how appropriately he had named his boat although it wasn’t the boat that held the number one spot in his list of two obsessions anymore.

He smiled as he pictured Lindsay curled up in his bed, the comforter wrapped around her little body like a cocoon, keeping her safe and warm. His first instinct when he woke had been to reach for her and make love to her again but he stopped himself, deciding that she probably needed the sleep. He had to actually leave the bed to stop himself from touching her.

They had talked for hours last night about everything under the sun, finding themselves sinking deeper into each others lives. Then they had made love again, slowly, passionately and without any clothing on. He had explored every inch of her body and paid attention to some parts more than others. Peter sipped his coffee and was sure he could still taste her on his lips and his neck still moved, which surprised him considering the leg lock she had had his head in.

He saw something move out of the corner of his eye and turned to see Lindsay walking towards him, the comforter wrapped around her body, dragging behind her. He smiled and held out his hand to her.

“Good morning Beautiful,” he said, setting his coffee down as she sat in front of him, between his legs. He wrapped his arms around her and the bulky comforter.

“Morning,” she whispered, leaning her head back against his shoulder. “What a beautiful sunrise.”

“Are you okay?” he asked, brushing her hair back off her forehead.

She turned her head and looked at him, smiling. “Very okay, just a little dreamy still.”

He smiled. “I was thinking that if you had no other plans for the weekend then we could stock up on provisions and spend the weekend on the water.” His heart was pounding hard, a million rejections from her filling his mind.

“What would we need to stock up on?” she asked.

He let out his breath, at least that wasn’t a ‘no.’ “Oh just stuff,” he said, holding her tight and grinning like an idiot.

She raised a brow, “What kind of stuff Peter?”

“I don’t know, uhmmm food, wine and we could probably use some clean clothes. We need to get more toothpaste, dish soap, home pregnancy kits, definitely could use some more fruit, a marriage license, blankets, floor polish, you to say yes to marrying me and I think we should probably refuel.”

Lindsay listened to him with great amusement. “Are you sure about all that?”

He squeezed her, “Very sure. What do you think?”

“I’m okay with all but one of those.”

He didn’t want to know which one but found himself asking which one didn’t work for her. She pushed one arm out from the comforter and pulled his head down to hers, kissing him softly and feeling every nerve ending coming alive again. She looked at him and his heart stopped — he really didn’t want to know.

“There’s plenty of toothpaste,” she whispered.
