Jennifer Aniston Says She’s tired of ‘Cancel Culture’

Jennifer Aniston said she’s tired of “cancel culture” during a recent interview, suggesting that she would probably be canceled for saying so. I don't blame her. Nearly everyone is sick of it. It is fine to have an opinion, as not everyone is going to agree all the time. But to cancel things that we grew up with? Ban books because of what is considered offensive today and wasn't then? Give me a break. What is next ? Rap music from the 80s and early 90s such as N.W.A. - Fuck tha Police? There are more things to life than constant complaining.

The 54-year-old actress spoke to The Wall Street Journal and explained that while she wasn’t personally harassed by disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, she doesn’t put everyone who has done something wrong in the same “basket.”

“I probably just got canceled by saying that,” Aniston said. “I just don’t understand what it means … Is there no redemption? I don’t know. I don’t put everybody in the Harvey Weinstein basket.”

The “Friends” alum went on to recall how Weinstein made people feel nervous and one time she was in her trailer on the set of a movie and he showed up to pitch her something.

“He’s not a guy, you’re like, ‘God, I can’t wait to hang out with Harvey [Weinstein],'” the superstar actress said. “Never. You were actually like, ‘Oh, God, OK, suck it up.'”

“I remember actually, he came to visit me on a movie to pitch me a movie,” she added. “And I do remember consciously having a person stay in my trailer.”

Weinstein was at the center of the #MeToo movement in 2017 after numerous stars accused him of sexual misconduct. He is currently serving 39 years behind bars after being convicted in Los Angeles and New York for rape and sexual assault, Variety noted.

The disgraced movie producer told WSJ that the “Horrible Bosses” star “never had any uncomfortable instances with me.”

An email from Weinstein about Aniston, in which the convicted sexual offender wished the actress dead, made the news in 2020, Variety reported.

Unsealed court documents revealed an email Weinstein wrote in 2017 said, “Jen Aniston should be killed.” It was in response to a media inquiry into allegations that Weinstein had allegedly groped the “Murder Mystery” star.

At the time, a rep for Aniston told Variety the “claims are false. Jennifer has not been harassed or assaulted by Harvey.”
