Kelly Osbourne On motherhood- ‘scary as f–k’: ‘You don’t want to make a mistake’

Kelly Osbourne is still adjusting to her role as a mother. The 38-year-old — who welcomed her first child, a son named Sidney, in November — spoke about parenting- in an interview with E! News Wednesday.

“I’m a mom now, I love it. It’s the best thing that has ever happened to me,” Osbourne told the outlet, adding, “It’s scary as f—k because you don’t want to make a mistake. It’s all these little tiny things and these mistakes that you ultimately make because you can’t learn unless you make a mistake,” she continued, referencing the first time she tried to cut her son’s fingernails. It’s just unfortunate that you have to do it with a baby.”

Although Osbourne sometimes feels like a fish out of water, watching her son reach major milestones makes it all worth it.

“He is almost crawling, which is amazing,” she said. “He is kind of like scooting backwards and turning in circles.”

“Now my favorite thing is that he is, like, mom-obsessed, just where, if he sees me, he is reaching for me and I love it.”

The former reality star has also been able to lean on parents Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne for guidance.

When asked about her famous parents’ best parenting tip, she told the outlet, “That it’s not about you. Now, your life is about your child.”

However, it appears Kelly took their advice a little too seriously. “My mum is trying to get me to not be so attached to the baby right now, because I don’t do anything unless it has something to do with my baby, and she’s like, ‘You have to take some time out for you,'” Kelly explained.

“But I try and do it, and the next thing I know, I’m sneaking out the back door to go home to be with my baby.”

Ever since giving birth, Kelly has kept her son — whom she shares with Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson — out of the public eye, even going so far as to shade her mom for talking about the newborn on TV.

Yet the actress started living a much more private life even before the little one’s arrival.

Last month, Kelly admitted that she “hid for nine months” while pregnant because she was worried that people would make negative comments about her growing body.
