Russia Blames Ukraine For ‘Kamikaze’ Drone Strike On Moscow
Russia is blaming the Ukrainian government for a “kamikaze” drone attack on a wealthy Moscow neighborhood yesterday morning.
Russian President Vladimir Putin called the incident a “terrorist” attack. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the drones caused “insignificant damage,” but that the incident brought the war home to the streets of Moscow. Russia, for its part, claimed that it shot down five drones and prevented more damage from occurring. Ukraine has not taken responsibility for the attack and the White House has said it does not support attacks inside Russian territory. The incident comes just weeks after U.S. intelligence reported that Ukraine was likely responsible for a drone attack on the Kremlin in April.
GOP Debt Deal Debate
Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is claiming victory over his debt deal negotiated with the Biden administration, but he still has to corral the votes to get it passed. Meanwhile, some of his GOP colleagues are raising concerns over the bill.
South Carolina representative Nancy Mace says she will not vote in favor of the debt ceiling deal, contending that Republicans were hoodwinked and that the agreement would normalize high spending. Among other measures, the deal suspends the debt limit until 2025, caps spending growth for the next two years in areas except for defense and veterans, and expands work requirements for food stamps for those between 49 and 54 years old. However, Mace said that “this ‘deal’ normalizes record high spending started during the pandemic.” And Mace isn’t alone in her concerns. Here’s Representative Scott Perry (R-PA), a Freedom Caucus member, this afternoon:

Authorities are looking for answers after a brawl between two large groups in Hollywood, Florida, on Monday evening led to nine being wounded by gunfire. Authorities don’t know what sparked the confrontation, but viral videos show beachgoers fighting as tourists flee the beach. Hollywood mayor Josh Levy condemned the mayhem.
“People come to a holiday, to enjoy a holiday, a weekend on a beach with our families and to have people,” he said. “And complete reckless disregard of the safety of the public, and to have an altercation with guns in a public setting with thousands of people around them is beyond reckless.”
Catholics Flock To Missouri Town To See Incorruptible Nun
Roman Catholics and other Christians are flocking to a Missouri monastery by the thousands to witness a nun’s dead body that has been found seemingly “incorrupt.”
Sister Wilhemina Lancaster died in 2019, yet when her body was exhumed on May 18 by the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles, in Gower, Missouri, the sisters were shocked to find that her body had not decayed since her passing. Originally, her body was going to be moved to a new shrine, but she is now placed in a glass casket for viewing.
Now, the masses are calling for Sister Wilhelmina to be made into a saint. Since the beginning of the Catholic Church, there have been more than 250 incorrupt bodies of Catholic saints.
Chicago Mayor Blames Poverty For Violence
Over the weekend, the city of Chicago saw at least 45 people injured in shootings or stabbings, while another 11 were killed. Two of the violent incidents happened not far from the home of new Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson. Johnson blamed poverty and the lack of government programs in the Windy City.
“Poverty didn’t go away over the weekend,” he said. “When you understand that communities have been disinvested in and traumatized, that you’re seeing the manifestation of that trauma.”
