I woke up this morning to read that Tangerhütte, Germany stupidly announced a schmuck plan to rename a day care center after migrant parents reportedly expressed concerns that the current name does not accurately reflect the diversity of the community. Yes, read that sentence again. I am appalled at this. Tangerhütte, what the fuck are you thinking ?!?!? Considering the dark history Germany has for two World Wars.. and going way back to the Crusades. Do you really think this was a smart idea??? What a Schmuck thing to do Tangerhütte! However there is good news, the insane idea has been rejected!
Here is the story- The day care center is currently named after Anne Frank, a Jewish girl whose diary was published after she died at the age of 15 in a Nazi concentration camp — and according to local reports, migrant parents have complained that it is “challenging” to explain to their children who Frank was and why her story mattered.

According to a report from The Jerusalem Post, the daycare center’s director explained that “parents with migrant backgrounds feel uncertain about the name and find it challenging to explain to their children.”
An open society advocacy group, Miteinander eV, argued that there were certainly age-appropriate ways to discuss Frank’s story with younger children — and objected to the change, They said in a statement that especially as anti-semitism is on the rise in many areas, “renaming the daycare center sends the wrong signal.”
The city’s mayor, Andreas Brohm, has said the name change will go forward in spite of any concerns, noting that Anne Frank did not fit the parents’ push to embrace a “new focus on diversity.”
“Ultimately, the parents and employees wanted a name that was more ‘child-friendly’ and ‘better suited to their concept.’ Their needs are more important than the global political situation,” the BILD newspaper reported.
Since this article came out, there has been an update!!! The stupid plan was rejected!
The parliamentary group leaders of the city council of the unified community of Tangerhütte then announced that they would unanimously reject the renaming of the local daycare center “Anne Frank”. “On Wednesday, the city council will unanimously take a position against the request to rename the daycare center,” said Werner Jacob (CDU), chairman of the city council, to WELT. According to Jacob, all parliamentary group leaders support a corresponding position paper from the CDU Tangerhütte.
First I want to ask what we are all thinking, Why the F**k was this even brought up on the table? Why was this thought made ?!? Anne Frank and millions of Jews were murdered and honestly, we need to tell their stories! They don't have a voice but we have a voice for them - even my Dutch Jewish family was murdered during WWII - yep! Those reading this, I do have Dutch Jewish ancestry- my story I will write about it at a later date. But my family on one side were Dutch Jews- Orthodox. I wasn't raised in a Jewish family but my 2nd great grandmother's mother gave birth out of wedlock in 1880 in Antwerpen, Belgium. Dutch Jews migrated to Belgium during time of Napoleon. The whole story I can finally tell. I am thankful her story was written down and passed down to my family so we can know her story.
