DeSantis Twitter Event raised, $1+ Million In First Hour- awesome

Handsome Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis‘ special event on Twitter Spaces Wednesday (May 24th, 2023) evening was “by far” the most viewed in the history of the company.(although I didn't watch it, did you?)

DeSantis made the announcement that he was running for president during the Twitter Space, which was hosted by Twitter owner Elon Musk and GOP donor David Sacks, a close friend of Musk’s.

“This was by far the biggest room ever held on social media,” Sacks wrote in-part on the platform. “Twitter performed great after some initial scaling challenges. Thanks Twitter Team for adapting so quickly to make history!”

Musk confirmed the news by retweeting Sacks’ tweet and replying to another tweet that noted there were more than 700,000 concurrent users on the Twitter Space at one time.

Journalist Ian Miles Cheong tweeted: “Elon didn’t have any more than 200k concurrent listeners on his space with the BBC, which had around 3 million listeners after the recording went up. The space with DeSantis was at 701k and it was crashing long before it got to that number. That’s the highest it’s even been.”

Musk responded, “True.”

DeSantis campaign official Generra Peck said once the Twitter Space ended that officials at Twitter told her they had “hundreds of thousands of people” get into the Twitter Space as it crashed.

DeSantis campaign Press Secretary Bryan Griffin said that the campaign raised $1+ million in the first hour after launching.- sweet!
