Tea Talks with Sarah Ferguson Podcast-Honest Review

Sarah, the Duchess of York has an awesome new podcast co-hosted by Sarah Thomson called "Tea Talks". I decided to listen to the podcast and give a Salty Vixen review. Those who are tuning in, I am Salty Vixen, my pen name was officially created 18 June 2004 when I was sexually assaulted on a polo field at a polo after party in England. I turned a negative situation, where I uttered the words "I was a Vixen in a Salty Situation" and turned it positive.

During my time in England, because I was a non-playing member at various polo clubs, I did meet Sarah, the Duchess of York for a moment a Cartier International Polo (25 July 2004). I asked her where the loo was (they were fancy Porta-toilets)- as this was my first time attending the event. She was kind to me and pointed me the right direction. Those who do not know Guards Polo Club, it is a beautiful and big place, easy to get lost at with the amount of people who show up to polo. I think I have a picture somewhere in my old photo album of travels that Fergie was in, when I was taking photos of the handsome polo players! They do look good in those trousers! Okay, I did fancy a polo player back then, he didn't play the match that time. He was there sitting with mutual people I got to know that summer.

Okay now for the review! 🙂 .

“No topic is off the table. No biscuit will remain undunked,” reads the tagline for Tea Talks.

“Toddy” is one, and her co-host does promise up-top that we will also “get to see the real you”.  Not many know who Fergie is, apart from the nasty media (media isn't always nasty- but whenever there is drama, media is there. There are positive things about the media!). When I got to meet her for the few seconds, I thought she was lovely. Media makes the Royal Family out to be 'untouchables' when in reality, they are just like you or I. Just with a title and a castle.

Thomson praises her “creative” side, but Fergie praises Thomson for being creative prowess as she recently redecorated her house in Spain. - side note: Oh I love Spain, I lived in Sevilla in 2001 for a study abroad!

“Another phrase I love is that today is the first day of the rest of your life,” Fergie says mid-podcast. I Love this phrase as I use it often.

”One of the most incredible business ladies I’ve ever met,” Fergie says of Thomson.

“A podcast is really good because we chat and we love a chat and we really can along the journey of doing this share some thoughts and ideas.”

”I hope the listener can take away real learnings and just sort of… we’re here,” she says.

“I happen to be very lucky to be the Duchess of York.”

Sarah Ferguson opens her new Tea Talks podcast, co-hosted by news entrepreneur Sarah Thomson.

“We’ve had all this conversation with not a cup of tea,” Fergie said.

I loved her talking about 'Toddy'- a word that I haven't heard since I lived in England back in 2003-2004. Funny she brought that up, I was talking to a friend of mine, about some words that people don't say today in the Appalachian culture, such as "Warsh" (Wash, Warsh is how they (and I learned) how to say it due to my Scottish ancestry).

“In the old days wasn’t there a word toddy?”

“Don’t you love the word?”

”A tea toddy ”

”I think it’s just toddy.”

“Gosh that’s better,”

“Isn’t it!”

Here are some recipes for Hot toddy drinks. Oh how I wish I was in England to have my tea right now. I miss tea time. People in the states, don't do tea time. I do. I have a whole tea area in my kitchen. I love a good cup of tea. Helps me relax and focus on my writing 😉

Ferguson and Thomson talk about their first meeting on the Greek island of Paxos. They then discuss the horrors of waiting for a ferry in the middle of Corfu.

I have read reviews online, hoping for a spill the tea kind of podcast, my guess to talk about Prince Harry- Will Sarah talk about him? no. Regardless of what is happening with Harry (and I knew Harry 2004 (polo) and 2014-2016 (Sentebale), I don't think she should spill the celeb gossip. Unless he comes on the show, and wants to speak. As for me, whenever I do speak about Harry I am honest - and talk about what a good and kind person he is. He works hard and is very passionate about his work, but sadly the media, as everyone knows lies and makes him and others look bad. It is awful what the media does!

Ferguson asks Thomson to dish up some more praise.

“You’re just gorgeous as you know and I love you,” Thomson coos.

”You are incredibly bright – you’ll love all this because I’m not going to stop – you've got an incredible memory.”

”I’m very happy you thought I was pretty cool.”

”I met you a couple of years before that you wouldn’t remember…”

The duchess – shock! – does not remember.

My honest review is this: The podcast beautiful, it is English and I happen to love this lovely podcast! I can't wait to hear more! Perhaps I might get a guest spot on the show? 😉 kidding lol. - I love the positive atmosphere of this podcast, light and fun! And now it is time for a spot of tea.. what flavour will I have today? Okay. I love my English Breakfast Tea. I don't put milk in tea either, Fregie.
