The New York Sour Mixology Cocktail Recipe

Red wine. People bring it over as a gift. They leave it at your place. It’s the thought that counts, but how are you supposed to dispose of it? Wonder no longer, gentlemen. The New York Sour combines red wine with a Whiskey Sour, and while it seems preposterous, it’s one of those combinations that works despite the long odds against it. Finally, something good to do with wine.  Print the recipe below.

Ingredients

  1. 2 oz Rye Whiskey
  2. 1 oz lemon juice
  3. 1 oz simple syrup
  4. .5 oz Red wine (a big, fruit forward one)

How to Make It

Shake the rye, lemon juice and syrup with ice until well chilled and strain over fresh ice in a chilled rocks glass. Pour the wine over the back of a bar spoon to float it on top of the drink
